Wholly Natural Magazine would like to introduce you to our beautiful and latest adoption Cinta! Cinta’s adoption through the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF), was a birthday gift in 2018 from my close friends Colin & Veronica Tedman who also write for Wholly Natural Magazine. It was the most unique and amazing birthday gift I could have received.
As a child, I would drive my mother crazy about wanting to be with the Orangutans, and enjoy the adventure of living free with them in a lush rainforest habitat. Back then, I would never thought that there would come a time when they would go through so much suffering and their habitat would be destroyed. My wish to be a part of the Orangutan community has now come true after 63 years. Cinta is very much part of my heart and loved by the whole team at Wholly Natural Magazine. We would like to encourage you to donate, adopt, or give an adoption certificate as a very special gift to someone you love.
The Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF), Indonesia, through which we adopted Cinta, is a non-profit foundation supported by BOS Australia (BOSA) and other sister organisations around the world.
BOSF works under an official agreement with the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry for the conservation of Bornean orangutans and their ecosystem. that works by involving and educating the local people. They focus on orangutan rescue, reintroduction and habitat conservation both in East and Central Kalimantan.
Currently, BOSF, supported by BOSA and other sister organisations, manages the biggest orangutan reintroduction program in the world, and is caring for almost 600 orangutans. BOSF also manages a peat land conservation area which provides habitat for 3,000 wild orangutans in Central Kalimantan and manages an Ecosystem Restoration Concession in East Kalimantan that is dedicated as orangutan habitat. Read more about BOSF, the preservation of the orangutan habitat, and Wholly Natural’s girl, Cinta in the upcoming Issue #9 of Wholly Natural Magazine.
