Who was to know that a commission to paint Australia's beloved Blue Wrens would forever alter the course of Mychelle Mahar’s life? Mychelle was teaching art and was searching. She had an insatiable kind of seeking, trying to find the right kind of processes and techniques that would help her express the depth of her emotion and the visual stories she longed to tell. Finally, through watching her young daughter paint, she realised that she too needed to feel like a child and express her art without distraction and with the bliss of a child. Out of this came her exquisite paintings of birds. Read more about Mychelle’s transformation and her art in Wholly Natural Issue 10.
